OROSI, Calif. (KMPH) — Orosi High School is planning a special dedication for two men, described as the pillars of Cardinal's athletic program.Beginning this fall, all football games at Orosi High School will be played at George Millhorn Stadium on Ed Coats Field.Ed Coats has worked in Orosi School District since 1960. "Dumbfounded. Honored by all the kids that remember me, call me coach still...come along and talk about the times that they were here and what they enjoyed doing," said Coats.Coats was the Cardinals head football coach for 32 years, winning four Valley titles, and has worked in the school district for more than 50 years. George Millhorn was also a coach, as well as a great player and later an administrator, credited with spearheading construction of the current stadium, built entirely by community support, over forty years ago. The Cardinal booster club is hosting a golf tournament June 7th in Dinuba and a special dinner on the field for the dedication ceremony, June 28th.
