Kerman High senior is Superintendent's September Super Star

Danielle Pacheco loves to volunteer

A Kerman High School senior is the epitome of volunteerism. Danielle Pacheco is the Fresno County Superintendent's Super Star for September. Pacheco is a bright student who has been giving back to the Kerman community since elementary school.

In the fourth grade she helped raise money for Valley Children's Hospital. In middle school Danielle received the President's gold medal for more than 100 hours of community service. During her junior year she received another gold medal for community service. "It makes me happy. I really like helping people to see people smile. It makes me feel good to help out."

Superintendent of Fresno County Schools Jim Yovino was totally impressed with her resume. "After getting to know Danielle Pacheco a little bit I might have to change the award to the Superintendent's super Super Star because this young lady has done so much in a short time."

Danielle Pacheco is a straight "A" student and ranked number one in her class at Kerman High School. She's a two time captain of the girls varsity basketball team and a member of the 4-H and FFA. In her spare time she's an altar server for St. Patrick's Church, a Kids Day volunteer for Valley Children's. She's also a Kerman Chamber of Commerce volunteer and a volunteer at the school library. "I just really like to volunteer and give back and help out. Whatever I can do."

Danielle appreciates the super star award but felt there were other deserving students. Superintendent Yovino disagrees. "You do it at a pace that frankly I have not seen. You are an amazing young woman. We're just thrilled to honor you today." Danielle Pacheco, September's Super Star who is always willing to help out when there's a need in the community.
