Yosemite National Park Celebrates 150 Year Anniversary
Monday is the 150 year anniversary of the Yosemite Grant Act, signed by President Abraham Lincoln.
It was meant to preserve Yosemite Valley and the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
In 1890, the land surrounding these two tracts was designated Yosemite National Park, covering over 700,000 acres.
The park hosts over three million visitors every year.
