New job numbers are out for the Central Valley, and the news is not good.
The California Employment Development Department reports that unemployment rates are up for every county.
Figures for October were released Friday morning.
They show the rate for Fresno County rose to 12 percent from 11.1 percent in September.
The biggest losses were in farming and manufacturing, which lost a combined 14,000 jobs in October.
Unemployment rates also rose nearly an entire percentage point in Kings, Madera and Merced Counties.
In Tulare County, rate rose by half a percentage point, to 12.2 percent.
The farming industry lost 2,000 jobs in October.
The Central Valley's unemployment surpasses both state and national figures for October.
California had an unemployment rate of 8.3 percent.
The national rate was seven percent.
