While fewer teens are smoking cigarettes, a new study shows more are hookah smoking.
The study found 1 in 5 high school seniors used the water pipe device last year.
Although many think hookah smoking is less harmful than cigarettes, according to the Centers For Disease Control, it shares many of the same health risks.
Other studies have found hookah smoking actually delivers more tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide than cigarettes. A 2005 World Health Organization study found the smoker may inhale an amount of smoke in one session equivalent to smoking 100 or more cigarettes.
