A Chowchilla woman wanted for prison escape in Nebraska was captured in north Madera on Monday night, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said.
Connie Torres, 23, was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. after the car she was in was pulled over by officers in the area of Sonora and Adell streets.
Torres, who also goes by the name Connie Marquez, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, the sheriff's office said.
She was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections on felony drug charges. She now awaits extradition to Nebraska where she was serving a two to 4-year-term for narcotics and child abuse when she escaped.
