MODESTO, Calif. (KMPH) — The Modesto airport is coming up on the end of airline passenger service. The last flight out of the airport, at least for the time being, heads out Wednesday afternoon. This would be the first time in decades that the Modesto airport has not had commercial passenger service. Service is being ended because passenger numbers have been dropping for years. But there may be hope... The city and its airport consultant are hoping to land a deal for twice-daily flights to and from Los Angeles.
