Kids In Daycare More Likely To Be Overweight: Study
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
A new study finds kids in daycare are more likely to be overweight than those who stay at home with mom and dad.
Canadian researchers found kids between the ages of one and four, who stayed with an extended family member or in a daycare, were more likely to become obese by the age of ten.
That's compared to children who were cared for at home by the parents.
Researchers have not yet figured out the reason for this.
They say diet and exercise need to be closely watched if you have a child in daycare.
The study was published in the Journal of Pediatrics.
