Ouch! Gas prices are up and now, so are food prices.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, food prices jumped last month to the highest level in nearly 2 1/2 years. The average price jump was about a half cent, so not huge, but still noticeable.
In January beef and veal prices went up more than 4%.
Prices for fruits and vegetables are expected to spike this year because of damage caused by the California drought.
