Fresno County Jail To Reopen Floor
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
A vote to reopen a closed floor of the North Annex Jail in Fresno County is good news for law enforcement frustrated with early release.
The Fresno County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to approve nearly $3 million in funding to hire and train staff to open the last closed floor of the North Annex Jail.
The plan -- proposed by Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims -- will increase the jail's capacity by 432 additional beds.
The goal is to have the staffing available to open the floor by January.
