Clovis Police Chief Retiring After 26 Years

he City of Clovis is searching for a new police chief.

After nearly six years as the city's top cop and 26 years total with the Clovis Police Department, Police Chief Janet Davis announced Tuesday she{} plans to retire in December.

Davis said it was an honor and a privilege to represent the men and women of the Clovis Police Department and Clovis Mayor Lynn Ashbeck says Chief Davis was a big reason why Clovis remains the safest city in the valley.

Clovis City Manager Rob Woolley says the city plans to recruit internally for the city's next chief.
