A battle over trash has turned into trash talk and threats in the North Valley.
Madera County leaders say they've hired a new company to handle most of the county's residential and business trash disposal services.
But, they say, the old company is now warning county residents that their service may be disrupted starting next week.
At a news conference Tuesday, county officials said they are prepared to make sure that does not happen.
County officials also said they're suing the former company for $2.9 million for keeping a larger share of recycling revenues than they were supposed to.
