CVS Stops Selling Cigarettes And Chewing Tobacco

The drugstore store chain CVS is now the first major pharmacy chain to pull tobacco products from its stores.

In a statement today, CVS Caremark announced it will phase out cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco from its more than 7,600 stores by October first.

In a statement on its website the company's CEO said, "Cigarettes and tobacco products have no place in a setting where health care is delivered. This is the right thing to do."

The move will cost the drug store chain more than $2 billion in revenue a year.
