A bobcat was captured in the backyard of a west central Fresno home Thursday morning, but not before it killed a family's pet.
It happened around 8:30 a.m. near Fruit and McKinley.
Naomi Hendrix says she called police after she spotted the bobcat eating her pet rabbit in the backyard.
Police then called the Department of Fish and Game.
Officers with that agency shot the bobcat with a tranquilizer dart and took it back to their office to have it checked out.
Fish and Game says it will release the animal back into the wild.
