SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 has rattled part of the Southern California coast.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 7:38 a.m. Wednesday temblor was centered 3 miles west of Isla Vista in Santa Barbara County.

A Santa Barbara County sheriff's dispatcher says deputies felt the jolt, but there are no damage or injuries or calls from the public.

Authorities also say there's no danger of a tsunami.

The epicenter is in the Santa Barbara Channel region about 100 miles west of Los Angeles.
