Big Screen on a Budget - The Jungle Book
If you've seen 1967's animated Disney classic 'The Jungle Book' then you know the general outline of this new version. The magic in this film is what is added. The characters like human boy Mowgli, Baloo the bear, and Shere Khan the Tiger are fleshed out in a way that works wonders and adds depth to the simple story that people fell in love with in the 60's.
Also added are visual effects that are hard to describe in their quality. Photo realistic. Everything in this film with the exception of Neel Sethi's character Mowgli is a digital effect. That ranges from talking animals to the very jungle that surrounds them. It's surreal! Absolutely the best visual effects since Avatar, and that's saying a lot.
The Jungle Book has something for everyone and is the perfect summer movie for the whole family. You've got to go see this one. And I don't say this often, but it might be worth dropping the extra money to see The Jungle Book in 3D. The effects are some of the best I've ever seen!
TL;DR: The Jungle Book is fun for the whole family with a familiar story and visual effects that might actually be worth a rare 3D ticket!
