Jury: SWAT team did not violate man's rights in shooting

A southern California civil jury has determined that a SWAT team did not violate the civil rights of a man who was shot and killed during a raid.

The San Bernardino Sun reports that the jury decided Monday that the San Bernardino County sheriff's SWAT team did not violate the civil rights of Enrique Carlos Rodarte of Victorville when he was killed in 2014 after he pointed what deputies believed to be a weapon at the team.

Investigators say that Rodarte was carrying a BB gun at the time of the shooting.

The San Bernardino County U.S. District court had already reviewed the case and said the shooting was justified and none of officers involved would be charged.
