Small increase coming for Social Security recipients
It won't be much, but next year, Social Security checks will have higher numbers printed on them.
Sixty-six million beneficiaries will see an increase anywhere between 2.2 and 2.5 percent in 2017.
That adds up to between $2 and $6 more each month.
It is the smallest increase in Social Security ever.
The average retirement check is now about $1,300 a month.
