Man to be charged with DUI after driving into canal

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office says a man who drove into the canal near Muscat and McCall in Sanger will be charged with driving under the influence.

Deputies say the 24-year-old thought the canal bank was a road and drove into it around 4 a.m. Monday morning. The current was strong enough to push the truck into the bridge.

He was driving alone and was able to get out of the truck. He went to a nearby home to get help. He was not hurt.
