Arrest made in connection to Selma party shooting, murder of 16-year-old

Selma Police Department says officers have made an arrest in connection to the murder of a 16 -year-old and shooting at a Selma party, according to a news release.

Pete Garcia IV, 21, is accused in the shooting in the 2400 block of Sarah Circle on April 16.

Robert Hernandez, 16, was killed in the shooting. Another person was shot in the back and is in stable condition. A third person was hurt by broken glass.

Police say when the hosts of the party tried to shut it down an argument started and shots were fired.

Police say Garcia admitted to being a gang member since the age of 12.

He was arrested on charges of homicide, assault with a deadly weapon and gang enhancement.
