A college degree may earn you a higher paying job, but it could mean you will be stuck with more debt.
Those are the findings of a new Pew Research Center study.
It found people under 40, who took out student loans, have almost twice the overall debt load of those who graduated without debt. That's because they are also racking up car loans, credit card debts and mortgages.
But there is some good news....
Americans are now carrying less credit card debt.
According to a FOX Business report, the average person owes about $5,100.
And the number of people who are delinquent on those payments is also falling.
