The winner of a $47 million SuperLotto Plus ticket, sold in Goshen over the weekend, has been identified.
On Tuesday, Jeffery Carl of Visalia stepped forward to identify himself as the winner of the SuperLotto Plus jackpot.
Carl walked into the Fresno district office of the California Lottery at around 11 a.m. on Tuesday with the winning ticket.
Carl's chosen numbers of 1, 3, 6, 12 and 47, and mega 22, gave him the largest ever jackpot won in the Fresno region from Bakersfield to Modesto. Should Carl decide to take the cash option, the payout will be roughly half of the $47 million.
Carl bought the ticket at a Shell Station in Goshen, and thanks to Carl the station's co-owner, Chy Chauwill, will also walk away a winner. That's because the store that sells a winning ticket is set to get one-half of 1% of the ticket's value, or $235,000.
