Unemployment Rates Across The Valley Go Down




      Local job numbers{}for{}August were released Friday,{}and the news is good.

      Unemployment rates across the Valley are down, with the lowest unemployment rate found in Madera County at 15.3%.

      Fields{}which grew in the month of August include Farm employment, Manufacturing, Trade, Transportation and Utilities.

      While the news is good in comparison with the rates from July, valley job rates{}continue to remain{}higher than the state and national average.

      California's unemployment rate went up slightly from 12.3% in July to 12.4% in August. The National Unemployment rate stands at 9.6%.
