Two Dead In Hanford-Area Collision
KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
At least two people were killed Tuesday when a flatbed truck collided with a pickup truck in Hanford, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officers say a 69-year-old man and a 34-year-old man, both of Lemoore, were driving eastbound on Flint Avenue in a 2001 Chevy S-10 before coming to a stop at 16th Avenue.
The driver failed to see an oncoming 2009 Freightliner flatbed truck approaching before driving into the intersection, the CHP said.
The driver of the freightliner attempted to break and steer into the left lane, but his front end struck the driver-side door of the Chevy S-10.
Both vehicles ended up on the southeast corner of the intersection following the collision, the CHP said.
The 69-year-old man and the 34-year-old man were taken to the King County Coroner.
Officers said all three were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
