Deadly Hit & Run Forces Lane Closures on Highway 99

CHP found the truck they say hit the pedestrian in a convenience store parking lot at Ashlan and Parkway. They arrested the driver.Officers say the traffic was backed up as much as seven miles at one point.All lanes are open and traffic is moving normally.5:30 a.m. Traffic backed up for about a 1 1/2 miles after a deadly hit and run crash at Herndon and Highway 99.Two lanes of southbound Highway 99 were closed as CHP officers investigated the cause. Officers say a pedestrian was hit in that area and killed. One person is in custody but details of the accident are not yet known.
