A 17-year-old from Madera County is facing murder charges now, after deputies say she killed her newborn daughter Friday.
Deputies say they found the body of the newborn girl wrapped in a plastic bag, stuffed under a bathroom sink, at a home on Chapin Street, near Avenue 16.
Deputies say the girl showed up at a hospital on Friday, January 31st.
Doctors found she was experiencing postpartum bleeding; the girl denied having given birth.
They tried to find out what happened, but experienced a language barrier. The girl speaks an indigenous language from Oaxaca, Mexico.
Once deputies figured out her address, they found the baby and then questioned the teen.
She insisted the baby was not alive when she delivered it, but autopsy results show she was alivethen killed.
The teen told deputies she arrived in Madera just three days before giving birth.
She is now at the Madera County Juvenile Hall, with bail set at $1 million.
She is expected to be charged as an adult.
