Suspect Wounded During Officer-Involved Shooting In Visalia
VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) —
A suspect is listed in stable condition after sustaining a gun wound during an officer-involved shooting in Visalia.
At around 1:00am Friday morning, police responded to reports of shots fired at residence in the area of S Linewood St. and W. Judy avenue.
As officers arrived on scene, they say shots were fired by the suspect. They then attempted to negotiate with the suspect who had retreated into his home.
The suspect eventually came out of his house but refused to cooperate with the commands from officers, at which point police K9 units were deployed.
As the suspect retreated back toward the proximity of his firearm, an officer involved shooting took place, and the suspect was hit. He was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.
The Tulare County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit is handling the investigation of the shooting.
