Suspect In Deadly Fresno Crash Arrested In Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KMPH) —
The suspect in a deadly crash on September 25th in Fresno is now in custody.
Police say 19-year-old Maurice Fields was traveling at a high rate of speed on Fruit Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle and hit and killed a 50-year-old male pedestrian.
The vehicle then crashed into a power pole, causing serious injuries to a 9-year-old boy in the car.
Police say Fields fled the scene, leaving the injured child in the damaged vehicle.
Fields is wanted for Felony Vehicular Manslaughter, Felony Hit and Run, and Felony Child Endangerment.
The Sacramento Police Department arrested Fields on Monday, December 30th on unrelated charges before discovering he was also wanted in Fresno.
