Stolen Car With Boy Inside Found Near Selma
SELMA, Calif. (KMPH) —
A 5-year-old boy is safe after the car he was in was stolen in the Selma area.
Authorities said the Honda Civic was stolen from a parking lot near Floral and Highway 99 just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Selma Police Chief Myron Dyck, a mother left the Honda running with her 5-year-old son and a 10-year-old in the back seat while she was inside a business.
Chief Dyck said a man walked up to the car and hopped into the driver's seat. That's when the 10-year-old got out and went to go find the mother. She then called police as the car drove off.
The Honda was found about an hour later in a rural area near Leonard and Manning avenues, just north of Selma.
The boy was still inside the car, but the man was gone.
The suspect is described as being in his 20s, clean shaven, with a light complexion and was wearing a red hat.
