San Diego Padres' Tony Gwynn Dead At 54
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KMPH) —
The San Diego Padres organization confirmed on Monday that Hall of Famer, Tony Gwynn, has died at age 54.
Just days ago, Gwynn was given a one-year contract extension as baseball coach at San Diego State.
Gwynn had been on medical leave since late March, recovering from cancer treatment.
During his Major League Baseball career, he had more than 3,100 hits in 20 seasons with the Padres.
