Robbed For Cell Phone: 17 Year Old Stabbed Outside Of Clovis McDonald's
CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) —
A Clovis man who stabbed and robbed a 17-year-old of his cell phone over the weekend has been arrested, Fresno County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies say Jeremie Pat Barnick, 18, approached the 17-year-old while he was sitting on a curb outside of a McDonald's restaurant on Ashlan and Clovis avenues shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday night.
Barnick stabbed the 17-year-old in the back as he grabbed the cell phone and then fled on foot, deputies said.
A witness followed Barnick as he attempted to flee.
Deputies and Clovis police eventually located Barnick in the area of Sussex and Manilla.
Deputies discovered blood on Barnick's clothing and he was still in possession of the stolen cell phone.
Barnick was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
The 17-year-old was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
