Monday's funeral services honoring California Highway Patrol Officers Juan Gonzalez and Brian Law looked back at their time in the C.H.P. and also showed us what type of men they were.
Officer Juan Gonzalez was 33 years-old. His family describes him as a quiet, down to earth man who loved sports.
Gonzalez was born in Visalia and graduated from Tulare Union High School. After high school, Gonzalez received a bachelor's degree in criminology from Fresno State.
The officer's family says when he was five years old he decided that he wanted to become a California Highway Patrol Officer. After graduating from the C.H.P. Academy, Gonzalez was assigned to the San Jose area and a few years later transferred to Fresno.
Gonzalez loved to travel with his fianc Ana and the two planned to marry soon.
Officer Brian law was 34-years old. He was married and leaves behind 3-children.
Law was born in Redwood City and graduated from Buchanan High School. He attended Fresno City College before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. While in the U.S. Marine Corps., Law was a Sergeant that specialized as a flight equipment technician.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps Law joined the U.S. Air Force. During that time he met his wife Rebecca.
Law joined the C.H.P. in 2007 and was assigned to the Oakland area until he transferred to Fresno last year.
Law's family says he enjoyed barbecuing, the outdoors, and loved spending time with his family.
