Police Release Names Of Officers Wounded In Visalia Shootout
VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) —
The Visalia Police Department on Tuesday released the names of the two officers injured in a shooting nearly two weeks ago.
Officers Adam Collins and Bryan Ferreira were injured in a shootout on Stover Street and Douglas Avenue in northeast Visalia on May 16.
Police say the shooting happened after the two police officers, who were working undercover at the time, approached 25-year-old Luis Avila and 18-year-old Phillip Marquez.
Police say one of the two men complied with officers while the other suspect began shooting.
Both Collins and Ferreira are still recovering from their injuries.
