      New Mexico Peppers Fresno State

      Regular season Mountain West Champion New Mexico opened a three game series at Fresno State Friday night by routing the Bulldogs, 9-0.

      Fresno State's bats were silenced by New Mexico pitcher Josh Walker, who threw a complete game, three-hit shutout with six strikeouts.

      The Lobos' bats were on fire, pounding out 12 hits off of five Bulldog pitchers, including three home runs.

      New Mexico, ranked 16th in the nation, has won 13 straight conference games.

      The series at Fresno State continues Saturday night at Beiden Field.
