Charges could be filed by Friday afternoon against the man accused of kidnapping and raping a ten-year-old Fresno girl.
This comes as detectives recover more evidence in their case against 23-year-old Kalvin Cardenas.
Investigators say they now have a blanket, that they believe, belongs to Cardenas. They say the blanket was in his truck when he picked up the girl shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, in the area of Rialto and Barton.
Detectives say she was walking her bike on her way to school, when Cardenas approached her, offering the girl a ride.
The girl said no, but detectives say he forced her in and drove her to a remote area near Kerman.
The child told deputies Cardenas tied her up, raped her and left her in a field.
She freed herself and started looking for help. A couple found her around 3:45 p.m. near Highway 180 and Napa.
Cardenas was arrested at his Clovis home following a three-hour standoff with police Wednesday morning.
Detectives initially said they were looking for the 10-year-old's bicycle, helmet and her backpack which were also taken at the time of her abduction. The blanket in the truck was also missing.
On Wednesday, investigators recovered the bicycle after a man contacted the sheriff's office to report he had located it near the intersection of Highway 145 and Belmont, just north of the city of Kerman.
Thursday evening, someone spotted the blanket and called deputies. They have not released the location where it was found.
Detectives are still looking for the child's bicycle helmet and backpack. The bicycle helmet is white. The backpack is described as a purple "High Sierra" nylon backpack.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Fresno County Sheriff's Office at (559) 488-3111.
