      Moles Linked To Breast Cancer

The number of moles a woman has on her skin may hint at her risk of developing breast cancer.

Women with 15 or more moles on a single arm were 35% more likely to develop breast cancer according to a French National Institute of Health study.

In a second study at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, moles were linked to an increased risk only among women who developed breast cancer before menopause.

It's not known why moles may be linked to breast cancer, but researchers suggest hormones or genes could be involved.
