A new study shows eating Mexican food can be worse for you than eating fast food.
Researchers in Mexico found the diet is more dangerous than fast food because it's a combination of fried-food, junk food and soft drinks.
When combined with a sedentary lifestyle, of little to no exercise, it raises the risk of obesity and obesity-related disease like diabetes, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases.
In one year from 2009 to 20-10, the number of obesity-related deaths went up by nine and a half percent in Mexico.
Dr. Enrique C. Morales Villegas, director of the Cardiometabolic Research Centre in Aguascalientes, Mexico who conducted this study says, " The prevalence of overweight and obesity in Mexico is one of the highest in the world."
