Great Day's marriage and family therapist, Paul Mavrogeorge, visited Great Day to talk about how to determine what your parenting style to make sure you don't lean too far one way or the other.
Parents who allow children to get away with too much, trying to be a "friends," which means you allow bad behavior to happen.
Parents who are too strict, which causes children to rebel or become sneaky.
Paul says it's important to find someplace in the middle, known as authoritative.
He says it's also important to be consistent. You can't be permissive when your tired and then authoritarian when you're mad.
