Authorities have confirmed that a fourth person has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a museum in Mariposa, The Mariposa Gazette reports.

The robbery took place on September 28 at the California State Mining and Mineral Museum. Investigators say men dressed as ninjas stole more than $1 million in precious metals, mostly gold, while the museum was open.

42-year-old Christopher Sheffield, of Sacramento, has been taken into custody, The Mariposa Gazette reports.

On Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol announced that 40-year-old Edward Rushing III, of El Dorado County, 43-year-old Matthew Campbell, of Sutter County, and 41-year-old Jonathan Matis, also of Sutter County, were arrested in the case.

The CHP, the Mariposa and Placer County Sheriff's Departments and the Sacramento Police Department studied surveillance video and helped make the arrests.

The museum was closed for several weeks after the robbery and reopened last Friday.
