Man in Booby-trapped House Died from Accidental Gunshot Wound

The death of a Kern County man whose body was found{}at his booby-trapped home last weekend{}has been ruled an accident.

An autopsy revealed that Paul Morningstar, 66, died from an accidental shotgun wound to his upper-body.

Kern County Sheriff's deputies{}found the body inside Morningstar's home in Bodfish, after neighbors said they hadn't seen him in a few days.

The SWAT team spent last weekend combing the house, after booby traps were found by a robot. It wasn't until Sunday, Dec. 22, that they{}found Morningstar's body.

Neighbors told the Bakersfield California that Morningstar was paranoid and believed someone was trying to kill him.
