      Madera Drug Bust Nets Over $1Million in Pot, Eight Arrests Made

      More than a million dollars worth of marijuana won't be making it to the open market.

      Agents with the Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team busted an operation at a Madera home Wednesday, arresting eight people and hauling marijuana and methamphetamine.

      The home was in the area of Del Monte Road near Avenue 21.

      Agents arrested the following eight men, who live across the Central Valley and Southern California.

      They have been identified as:

      • Alfredo Santos Cruz, 23 of Madera
      • Jose Herrerra, 18 of Lamont
      • Rafael Barroso Gutierrez, 23 of Sanger
      • Andres Gutierrez, 27, of Sanger
      • Adrian Martinez Silva, 24, of Sanger
      • Rodolfo Herrera Reyes, 32, of Fresno
      • Julio Cesar Bricnollo, 26, of San Fernando
      • Jesus Torres Barragan, 28 of Sanger

      Agents say they say are all tied to a Mexican drug trafficking organization. None of the men live at the home where the bust took place. They told agents they were "dropped off" at this location, where they were assigned to "work marijuana."{}

      The eight men are booked into Madera County Department of Corrections on suspicion of felony narcotic charges.

      Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have placed the men under Immigration detainer holds. {}
