A Kings County man is in custody, accused of beating his seven-month-old child.
Deputies were called by Child Protective Services late Friday night, about the child, who was receiving treatment at Children's Hospital Central California.
The child, according to CPS, was suffering from what were described as "suspicious injuries", including a broken arm, a cracked rib, and bruising on its head and body.
Detectives responded to the hospital, and arrested the child's father, 20-year-old Jonathan Tafoya.
Tafoya is booked at the Kings County Jail on felony child abuse and torture charges.
His bail is set at $625,000.
The child remains at Children's Hospital, and is expected to be placed in Protective Custody once released.
