Some patients at Children's Hospital Central California got the chance to experience a different type of therapy, one that worked on their balance, the movement of their limbs, and most of all their self-confidence with the help of a horse.
Guy Adams, is the Director of the Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch in Clovis. He brought his horses to the hospital to give the kids a chance to ride.
Guy says, "We've seen great gains. We have had autistic kids that said one or two words. Its just amazing that kids are stuck in a wheelchair and we hear the stories that they stood up on their own and got up and crawled."
Children's Hospital Staffer Jennifer Crocker says, "I think the smiles on the kids faces tells it, everybody has been very excited to do something outside the hospital walls, but also do their therapeutic healing."
The Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch does it all with volunteers and through donations.
If you'd like to help. It's located at 14335 Academy Oaks Lane in Clovis.
