Headstones are supposed to be in cemeteries right? Well, here's a creepy fact, there are gravestones in a Central Valley canal.
The canal is in Kings County and there are several tombstones lining the side of the canal. KMPH investigated to find out where the grave markers came from and all of them are from the Exeter District Cemetery. It turns out the cemetery replaced a bunch of tombstones and gave them to the Kaweah Delta Conservation District. The district uses them for erosion control at canals.
The Kings County Sheriff's Department also investigated and deputies say there's nothing illegal going on.
