Thousands didn't have to travel to Southern California or the Bay Area for Major League Soccer Action.
That's because the stars came to them Saturday night in Downtown Fresno, for the Inaugural Central California Cup.
The Los Angeles Galaxy took on the San Jose Earthquakes before nearly 13,000 fans at Chukchansi Park.
This was the Galaxy's first pre-season game in the Central Valley since they played the Fresno Fuego in an exhibition game in 2007.
Fans were ready to welcme the teams with open arms.
"I think it's awesome. I think that you see the support that's out here," says Brandon Cline.
Wily Rosales added, "We don't get to see this very often so it's definitely pretty fun."
While this was an exhibition match, a lot was on the line for the players.
Some are hoping for a shot at the national team, with the World Cup in Brazil just months away.
The Galaxy won over the Earthquakes, 2-1.
