Global Warming Initiative Announced Monday, CA Ahead of the Game
By Justin Willis
We're ahead of the game here in California, when it comes to President Obama's new global warming initiative. That's according to Governor Jerry Brown. He cited our state's aggressive energy-saving programs as the reason. The governor says billions of dollars are generated in savings, and clean energy jobs are being created. Under the President's proposal, California will have to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from power plants by 23% by 2030. The state already requires utilities to get a third of their power from wind, solar, and other renewable sources, by 2020.
