Fresno State Has Bowl Bid Within Reach

      The Fresno State football team, with an overall{}record of 5-3,{}will become eligible for a post season bowl game with a win Saturday at New Mexico.

      But head coach Tim DeRuyter says a six win season is nothing to celebrate, adding the goal of his team is to win the Mountain West Conference championship.

      DeRuyter believes winning{}games on the road, like the one Saturday in Albuquerque, is one step toward achieving that goal.{} He also admits the Bulldogs do not control their own destiny because a of a loss at Boise State.{}

      Fresno State, 4-1 in league play,{}must win the remaining four games on the schedule, and hope another Mountain West team can upset the Broncos somewhere down the line.{}

      That would give the Bulldogs at least a share of the title in their first season in the Mountain West.{}
