Fresno State center Robert Upshaw has played his final game for the Bulldogs, kicked off the team.
In a brief statement released by the University Wednesday night, athletics director Thomas Boeh says Upshaw was dismissed for violations of athletic department policy.
Upshaw's scholarship is revoked, and can be given to another student-athlete.
When he was recruited out of Fresno's San Joaquin Memorial High School, the seven-foot Upshaw was seen as a potential keystone for the program.
But his freshman season was plagued by injuries and disciplinary issues.
Upshaw played in 22 games, averaging four points and four rebounds.
