President Obama addressed the nation last week and said roughly 30,000 U.S. troops will be pulled out of Afghanistan by September 2012.
But many believe his decision was motivated by politics instead of economics or national security.
A Fox News poll found nearly 48 percent of voters think the 2012 presidential election was the main drive behind the withdrawal announcement.
24 percent of people who responded believe the troops are being pulled out because the U.S. can't afford the war.
The poll also found 17 percent of voters say the president's main reason is because he believes most U.S. goals have been achieved.
