Fowler Man Struck During Fierce Central Valley Lightning Storm
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
A 54-year-old Fowler man was taken to the hospital after reportedly being struck by lightning, the Fresno County Sheriff's office said.
Deputies say the man was changing a battery on a motor home in the 6000 block of S. Fowler Avenue around 6 p.m. when the lightning struck.
A lightning storm ripped through the Central Valley Monday evening, sparking fires and a massive power outage in some South Valley counties.
Deputies were already at the scene responding to a civil call at the home when the man was stuck by lightning.
The man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials say he is expected to survive.
